HAMILTON TIV claimed the Super Premier Division title at the 96th TISI Sangam Convention, defeating Middlemore TIV 2-1 in the final held at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Ba on Monday night.
In the Masters Division, Lautoka TIV Masters emerged victorious after edging out Manukau TIV Masters 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
The tournament was not without its challenges. Unpredictable weather conditions forced the organising committee to make last-minute changes to game venues and some matches were played late into the night.
Despite these hiccups, organising committee chairman Upendra Gounder said they were proud to have completed the tournament successfully.
“We finished the games successfully despite the challenges we faced with the weather, which caused some delays.
“Teams turned up well, and we thank them for coming out and participating,” Gounder said.
