THE Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) has signed a new partnership with NEWWORLD IGA in an effort to help farmers under the Fund’s Loyalty Program.
SCGF chief executive officer Raj Sharma said they were excited to have the supermarket giant on board their push to ensure they continue to assist growers across the country.
“With its supermarkets strategically located in all key cane belt areas, NEWWORLD IGA’s participation adds tremendous value to our Loyalty Program which now serves more than 10,260 growers,” Mr Sharma said.
He said since the launch, the fund has issued 1150 loyalty program cards to growers and has successfully partnered with 14 businesses, including private hospitals, pharmacies, general practitioners, medical labs, hardware and farm machinery dealers and Vodafone.
“NEWWORLD IGA is a significant addition to our list of partners through its established network and widespread appeal among growers.”
Mr Sharma said the fee-free deadline for loyalty card holders has also been extended.
“Initially the Loyalty Card was fee-free until March 31, 2025, after which growers (SCGF customers) would pay a nominal fee of $10 and non-SCGF growers would be charged $20 for a three-year valid card.
“We are pleased to announce that the deadline has been extended to June 30, 2025, allowing growers to still benefit from free cards until then.”
NEWWORLD IGA head of merchandise, marketing and wholesale Sameer Patel said they are dedicated to providing better choices and value to customers.
“This collaboration enables us to contribute directly to the wellbeing of the growers who play such an essential role in Fiji’s economy.”
