The attack on the crew of an Asian fishing vessel was related to an attempt to steal fish, the Fiji Police Force has said.
The incident took place on April 18 at the floating dock in Suva.
Police said a number of people have been questioned.
“The vessel was docked for scheduled repair when a group of men boarded the boat and attacked the crew, allegedly with the intention of stealing fish,” said Fiji Police.
“Investigators are following a number of leads and have questioned a number of people in relation to the aggravated burglary case.”
Investigations continue.
