THREE students from Nabua Secondary School have earned spots in the Fiji men’s under-19 cricket team to compete at the ICC East Asia-Pacific World Cup division one qualifier in Japan next week.

The selection marked a proud moment for Jona Vakatawa, Temo Vakaloloma, and Waisale Tukana Bale.

The trio are aged between 17 and 18.

Jona Vakatawa expressed his pride at being selected to represent his country, stating that while he is not new to the sport of cricket, this opportunity is a significant achievement for him and his family.

The upcoming tournament will present a tough challenge as the team faces strong competitors from Papua New Guinea and host nation, Japan.

The competition is scheduled to take place from April 22-30.
