TD11F to attain cyclone strength, heavy rain warning for parts of Fiji

A heavy rain alert has now been upgraded to a heavy rain warning for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

The Nadi weather office states an active trough of low pressure lies over the group.

Associated cloud and rain are expected to affect the country for the next few days.

Forecast for Yasawa and Mamanuca, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands is for periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

There will be occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms for the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, TD11F is expected to be named as a tropical cyclone later today.

It will not have a direct impact on Fiji.
