International seismology services are reporting a 6.5 and 6.1 magnitude earthquakes between Fiji and New Zealand this morning.
The 6.5m earthquake occurred 333 km from New Zealand at around 8:03am today. The quake had a great depth of 337 km below sea level.
The 6.1m quake was recorded at soon after.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorology states no tsunami was generated.
Fiji and New Zealand sit on the Kermadec Trench, a deep oceanic trench extending north from New Zealand towards Fiji.
