Ikanivere scoops major prize in NZ

Tevita Ikanivere, the co-captain of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, is the Annual Pasifika Hall of Fame’s 2024 Jonah Lomu Male Player of the Year.

Ikanivere’s accolade was awarded to him in Auckland, New Zealand on Thursday night.

He won the award alongside Manusina Samoa skipper Masuisuimatama’ali’I Tauasa-Pauaraisa.

The Nukuni, Ono-i-Lau native’s win comes after being a part of the Fijian Drua since 2019 with seven caps when the Drua was a part of the Australia National Rugby Championship.

He has donned the national jumper as part of the FIJI Water Flying Fijians since 2020 and has since had 21 caps and six tries with the team.

Meanwhile, he will not be a part of the Drua’s round nine Super Rugby Pacific match against the Highlanders in Dunedin, New Zealand tonight.
