THE Coca-Cola Lautoka and Yasawa Zone competition kicked off yesterday with close to 750 students from 13 schools showcasing their athletic talents.
Zone president Jupendra Narayan said the competition started well under perfect weather conditions, with strong support from fans.
“We are blessed with beautiful weather, and the students have been showcasing their talent. It has been a good, competitive competition,” Narayan said.
Only the top two athletes in each event who meet the qualifying time or distance will secure a spot in the Coca-Cola Games national finals.
This year’s zone competition is held under the theme “Healthy and Drug-Free Games”, promoting both physical fitness and positive values among young athletes.
With intense competition on the track and field, all eyes are now on which athletes will rise to the occasion and earn their ticket to the Fiji Finals.
