FIJI’S rising bodybuilder star Jordan Pillay is just four days away from competing in the Samson Showdown in Las Vegas.
This competition is a national qualifier for the International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB) Pro Card, a prestigious milestone no Fijian has ever achieved.
Pillay left Fiji 12 weeks ago to train intensively and prepare for this competition.
He will compete in the open classic category, where he must place in the top three to qualify for the USA nationals in December.
A strong finish there could earn him his Pro Card, marking a historic moment for bodybuilding in Fiji.
The 30-year-old has dedicated years to perfecting his craft, making sacrifices to reach this level.
Speaking to the media before his departure, he shared how the sport has shaped him.
“Bodybuilding is never easy. Every day my family pushes me to be the best version of myself. The lessons I learn in the gym, I apply in life and that keeps me going,” he said.
Pillay’s journey has been one of discipline, hard work and perseverance.
Now, as he approaches competition day, he is focused on bringing his best performance to the stage.
If he qualifies, it will be a major step toward his dream of becoming a professional bodybuilder and Mr. Olympia.
Meanwhile the Showdown will take place this Saturday.
