Families travelled from abroad to celebrate with Ratu Naiqama

FAMILIES of the Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, have travelled to Taveuni to take part in a significant event.

The families travelled from around the country while some arrived from overseas to join their son in the celebration of vakasenuqanuqa.

Government officials are also in attendance and this includes Assistant Minister for Rural and Maritime Development Jovesa Vocea, Assistant Minister for Agriculture Tomasi Tunabuna, Health Minister Dr Atonio Lalabalavu, Policing Minister Ioane Naivalurua and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.

Other notable figures present include the Great Council of Chiefs Chairman Ratu Viliame Seruvakula and the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Zhou Jian.

Valelevu clan representative Ratu Epeli Lewenilovo, said movement restrictions would be in place during the proceedings.
