THE 7th Women’s Expo concluded with a showcase of women designers’ creations modelled by locals on the runway.
A large crowd gathered to witness the stunning pieces, celebrating the talent and creativity of Fiji’s female designers.
Opening the Expo, First Lady Emily Lalabalavu said this was a platform for women to showcase and market their products, thereby supporting their livelihoods and enhancing the wellbeing of their families and communities.
She said this was a celebration of the talents and hard work of women artisans from all over the country.
“Your creativity, hard work and dedication, despite facing various challenges and recent weather conditions, demonstrates your resilience and makes this event so special to each of you,” Mrs Lalabalavu said.
“This national expo implements the Government’s commitment to gender responsive and inclusive economic empowerment programs.
“The combined effort ensured that Fijian women are at the forefront of economic progress, driving positive challenge and development in our communities.”
The event featured more than 300 women artisans from the three divisions, and offered a unique opportunity to celebrate and uplift the talent of Fiji’s women artisans.
