The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has named a 40-member extended squad for the Fiji under-15 boys development team trials.

The announcement was made on the Fiji FA Facebook page yesterday.

The trials will be held at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba, as the team prepares for the OFC U15 boys youth development tournament in New Zealand from April 15-23.

The squad features players from various districts with Ba, Labasa, Lautoka, Nadi, Nadroga, Nasinu, Rewa, Navua, Rakiraki, Seaqaqa, Suva and Tavua all represented.

Among those selected are promising talents like Ayush Kumar, Emononi Manono and Joshua Prasad from Ba, along with Labasa’s Iowane Waganilotou and Solomon Driver.

Lautoka’s Simeli Tauvoli and Shahil Prasad also made the list.

Nadi will be represented by Rayyaan Mohammed and Isaiah Nadule Toqabele, while Ponipate Navue and Daniel Saunikalou from Nadroga will also take part.

Nasinu’s Dikshit Bhan and Gideon Ratu join Rewa’s Isoa Baselala and Rohan Jacob Ram, while Navua’s Nishil Prasad and Gus Louis Danford add depth to the squad.

The trials will be crucial in finalising the squad that will represent Fiji in the OFC tournament.

The selected players will undergo intensive training, focusing on skill development and team cohesion.

The Fiji FA has emphasised the importance of these trials in shaping the future of Fijian football, with the ultimate goal of developing talent for future international competitions.

The final squad announcement is expected following the trials in Ba on March 10.
