Wet road and speeding caused Cuvu accident – Pacific Transport

Pacific Transport said slippery road conditions combined with over speeding, led to the accident where its bus went off road at Cuvu Top Hill Junction in Sigatoka.

The company said its sympathies go out to the injured passengers, their families, and the wider community.

“Initial investigations have confirmed that there were no mechanical issues with the bus.”

“However, slippery road conditions caused by recent rainfall, combined with over speeding, led to the vehicle veering off the road.’

“The driver involved is a member of our garage staff with a valid Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license, was deployed due to busy Friday schedules.”

“While this measure was intended to maintain service continuity, we acknowledge that it does not reflect our unwavering commitment to passenger safety and operational excellence.”
