Listen to this article:

A trough of low pressure with cloud and rain lies to the South and West of Fiji, states the Nadi weather office.

The trough to the South is expected to gradually move Northwards towards the group in the next few days.

Due to this, rain will start developing from later today and expected to become occasional, heavy at times with few thunderstorms.

There will be occasional rain with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm for interior and Southern parts of Viti Levu from Serua/Namosi through Tailevu, interior and Southern parts of Vanua Levu from Cakaudrove to Southern Bua.

For the rest of the Fiji group, expect cloudy periods with some showers and isolated heavy falls.

Persistent heavy rain may lead to flash flood in low lying and flood prone areas.
