THE Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua made a statement win in the opening round of Super W last night.

The two-time champions defeated holders Waratahs 23-17 in a repeat of last year’s final at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia.

Vice-captain Vitalina Naikore played a key role in their win, scoring one of the fastest try in the competition with just eight seconds into the first half.

Luisa Tisolo’s trusty boots did the work with two conversions and three successful penalty kicks.

Namosi player Josivini Naihamu celebrated her debut with the team’s second try.

The Drua led 20-5 at the break.

The Drua will look to build on their dominant performance when they host the Reds in Lautoka next Saturday.
