The Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s team lost 10-12 to South Africa in the second cup semi-final of the Vancouver 7s this morning.

A last-minute dash for the try-line by Donavan Don and successful conversion by Selvyn Davids for South Africa helped seal the win for the Springboks.

Tries for Fiji were scored by Joji Nasova and skipper Jeremaia Matana while their opponent’s tries were made by Shilton Van Wyk, Donavan Don and Davids.

Maintaining discipline proved to be a short-fall in both victims as a yellow card for Fiji was shown to Joji Nasova and a red for Sebastiaan Jobb.

Fiji will meet Spain again in the third place play-off at 12.05pm today.
