Tropical Disturbance 09F will develop into a tropical cyclone early tomorrow morning as it will brush past Vanua Levu, latest information released by the Nadi weather office show.
Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a tropical cyclone warning.
TD09F was located 350km Northeast of Cikobia at 3:00am this morning.
This system may increase its wind speed to 65km/hr, gusting to 90km/hr by later tonight.
A gale warning is now in force for the Eastern parts of Vanua Levu, Cikobia, Naqele Levu, Taveuni and Northern Lau group.
A strong wind warning remains in force for the rest of Vanua Levu, Northeastern parts of Viti Levu (Tailevu North to Tavua), Yasawa, Mamanuca, Southern Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
A heavy rain warning is now in force for whole of Fiji.
