The Commission of Inquiry is nearing its conclusion, with just four more witnesses left to testify.

Senior barrister and counsel to the Commission, Janet Mason has expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that proceedings have moved faster than anticipated.

“The delays we had previously were due to the extensive questioning of witnesses,” Ms Mason said.

“What was supposed to take three hours sometimes took three days.

“But now, we are getting through the process much more quickly than we anticipated.”

A key witness, Alexandra Forwood, is still undergoing questioning with the Solicitor-General scheduled to appear next.

Ms Mason confirmed other legal representatives, including Richard Naidu, have been actively participating in the proceedings.

Mr Naidu has been questioning Ms Forwood throughout yesterday and once he concludes, her testimony will be complete.

“We have only half an hour to go, and then after that, I think we only have four witnesses left.”

Ms Mason also addressed the commission’s request for an opinion from a King’s Counsel, stating a response was expected tomorrow.
