LABASA’S interim coach Alvin Chand is determined to turn the tide as his team prepares for the second leg of the Pillay Garments Champion v Champion series against Rewa this Sunday.

Chand said this week was crucial for the Babasiga Lions side as they prepare for the second round of CVC.

“We have this week to prepare, so we are assessing and analysing our last game against Rewa,” he said.

He said many teams have still managed to scoop the cup despite losing in the first round of CVC.

“Many teams have come from being three, four goals down and then winning in the next leg. Anything is possible when it comes to football.”

He said his players would be ready for the challenge.

“Fortunately, we have a week to prepare for that and iron out those errors. I believe the boys will give their best in the next round.”

Despite the 3-0 loss last Saturday, he said team’s morale was still high and determine to create upset this Saturday.

. “I have been thanking them all throughout training because they have been very cooperative with me, and especially the senior players.

They are always supporting me and listening. I would also like to thank our team manager and our technical advisors.”

The second round match between Labasa and Rewa will take place at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori kicking off at 3pm.
