Justice Isikeli Mataitoga

Justice Isikeli Mataitoga is the new President of the Court of Appeal.

He took his oath of office today at State House today.

Justice Mataitoga has been acting the position since October 3, 2024.

He is a former diplomat and former Fijian Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia and Singapore, Ambassador to the European Union, World Trade Organisation, UNESCO and FAO, as Ambassador to Japan with accreditation to the Russian Federation, Republic of Philippines, Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Brunei Darussalam.

Justice Mataitoga has served in various leading roles in Government, serving as Fiji’s Solicitor General (1993-1996), Chief Executive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2007), Director of Public Prosecutions (1989-1993).
