A NEW Vodafone Fiji Limited initiative to go “green” will see e-ticketing paper receipts eliminated.
The mobile company put out a teaser yesterday on its official social media Facebook page, revealing its newly launched new e-transport machine system, which is already live.
Vodafone Fiji said the new adjustment would ensure that e-transport users could now travel easier with the enhanced system.
“When you board the bus, you will see this new e-transport machine,” Vodafone Fiji said.
“You can check the fare amount as it will display on the screen and if needed tell the driver your destination so they can update the fare.”
VodafoneFiji stated that e-transport card holders were to tap and hold their e-transport cards on the right-hand side of the machine for two seconds to make payments when boarding the bus.
“Once payment is done your fare details and remaining balance will appear on the screen and no printed tickets required,” Vodafone Fiji instructed.
Vodafone Fiji also said with the new machines, tickets would now be stored on the e-transport card of the user.
“Always keep your bus card with you at all times for fare verification if requested by enforcement officers.”
Vodafone Fiji said all transport cards, old and new, would work seamlessly with the new e-transport system for bus card holders in the country.
