A NUMBER of big names are expected to feature for the Fijian Drua women’s team in this season’s Super W competition.
Former Fijiana 7s captain Rusila Nagasau is understood to have forced her way into the squad after as she was captured in a few of the Drua’s recent social media videos.
She was captured training with the team during their training at the Sand Dunes in Sigatoka in December 2024.
Also captured in that same video was former Fijiana 7s flyer Alowesi Nakoci.
2024 Fijiana 7s captain to the Paris Olympic Games, Raijeli Daveua is also believed to have joined the Drua women.
The three players created history for Fiji in 2020 when the Nagasau-captained Fijiana 7s side won bronze at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The experienced Timaima Ravisa who played sevens rugby, union and league was captured training with the team on December 17.
Ravisa was with Stade Rennais Rugby in the French Elite Club last year after a successful stint with the Fijian Drua women in 2022 when they won the Super W title on their debut.
She was also part of the Fijiana 7s team in the Tokyo Olympics.
Similar to Ravisa, Kolora Lomani returned to the Drua after a stint with the Brumbies women last year.
Lomani represented the Fijiana 7s team at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The team is also expected to be boosted with the return of an explosive player who was part of the 2022 winning team.
Some local names seen with the Drua include Suva’s Alfreda Fisher, Isabella Koi and Carletta Yee as well as Namosi’s Josifini Naihamu.
The Fijian Drua women’s squad will be released on January 29 as per the competition rules.
