The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) pre-season transfer window for this year officially opened on Monday and will close at the end of the month.
This period allows clubs and districts across the country to apply for player transfers or International Transfer Certificates (ITC) for both 11-a-side players (men and women) as well as futsal players.
In a statement released by Fiji FA on Monday, Player Registration and Transfer manager Rohitesh Narayan highlighted the importance of adhering to established procedures during this period.
“All transfers and player registrations must comply with the rules and regulations outlined in the Fiji FA national regulations,” Narayan said.
He also reminded member associations to ensure the eligibility of players before proceeding with any transfers.
“Member associations are reminded to verify the eligibility of players being transferred, considering any restrictions, contractual obligations, or registration requirements set by the Fiji FA,” Narayan said.
He further clarified that a player could only be transferred once per season under clause 10.4(d) of the transfer regulations.
“Players who have already taken a transfer in the June transfer window are not eligible to seek transfer this window,” Narayan said.
Fiji FA stressed that transfer applications must include proper documentation, including a district transfer certificate approved by the district president or secretary, a completed player registration form, and the $50 application fee.
“Fiji FA will only process the transfers upon receipt of appropriate documentation,” Narayan said.
“Applications will not be considered if the required paperwork is not received within seven days of the application.”
Narayan also warned of consequences for failing to follow the regulations.
“Violation of transfer legislation will result in the player or club appearing before the Player Status Committee,” he said.
Fiji FA is urging all stakeholders to maintain transparency and follow the guidelines throughout the transfer process.
