TD03F not a threat to Fiji – Tonga & Niue in its path

Tropical Disturbance 03F has a low to moderate chance of gaining tropical cyclone strength in the next 24-48 hours, states the Fiji Meteorological Service.

It is currently located near Samoa and is forecasted to make a Southeast turn towards Tonga within the next 24 hours.

Fiji Met adds global models have picked up the system and move it towards the Southeast with some intensification.

TD03F is embedded in the active South Pacific Convergence Zone.

Currently it is bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms over Samoa, American Samoa, Tokelau, Tuvalu and the Northern Islands of Tonga.

If the system develops further, Tonga and Niue and will face adverse weather conditions in the coming days.
