There is a delay in the President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu’s review of the Tribunal’s report on suspended director of public prosecutions Christopher Pryde due to the ongoing holiday season.

In a statement, Office of the President said Ratu Naiqama would need to peruse the Report, undertake consultations, seek and receive advice on the report.

“Given that some officials are on Christmas and New Year’s leave, these processes have been delayed,” the statement said.

“This process will be completed after officials resume work in the New Year.

“It is acknowledged that the Report does need to be made public as required in section 112(6) of the Constitution, and His Excellency will do so as soon as he has properly considered it.”

The three-member Tribunal appointed under section 112 of the Constitution of the Republic of Fiji, had completed its work and submitted the Report to the President.

The Tribunal to inquire into allegations of misbehavior against the suspended Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde included Justice Anare Tuilevuka as the chair and Justice Chaitanya Lakshman and Justice Samuela Qica as members.
