Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalusima has commended National Fire Authority for assisting in cleaning towns which were flooded.
Ba, Nadi and Rakiraki towns experienced flooding on Boxing Day.
“I would like to thank all National Fire Authority’s Fire Fighters around the country who were assisting our Town Councils in cleaning up after the flooding,” said Mr Nalusima.
“In Ba, 14 Fire Officer’s, 2 of whom were off duty Officer’s but gave up family time to help his comrades in cleaning up, 23 council workers and 4 police officers were on duty when I visited Ba.”
National Fire Authority officers from Nadi travelled to Rakiraki to help cleanup Rakiraki Town and Tavua Town.
