A flood alert remains in force for flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of all the major rivers in Fiji.
Fiji Meteorological Service states rainfall recorded for the last 24 hours ((5am Saturday to 5am Sunday) ranges from 30mm to 47mm in the Northern division.
“Water levels in all major rivers remain below their respective flood alert thresholds,” states Fiji Met.
“Flash flood warning remains in force for all low lying, flash flood prone areas and small streams of Northern division.”
An active trough of low pressure with associated clouds and rain remains slow-moving over the Northeastern parts of Fiji.
Due to the trough of low pressure, rain will become heavy from later today in for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Northern Division and Northern Lau Group, Western half and interior of Viti Levu.
