Newly appointed Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has reiterated that whatever he faces in his new role will not stop or distract him from pursuing it.
In wishing all Fijians a blessed Sunday, Mr Tudravu said: “Come what may, the one bus one river will not stop or be distracted”.
“Sa nona na Kalou na vakarokoroko ena vei yasana I cake sara. Sa veivinakati ko ira e Vuravura. Sa lomani na Tamata. (God be glorified in all areas, let love prevail on earth and with humanity).”
“Au sa rokova kau doka na veinuitaki kei na veikacivi ni Matanitu. Noqu bula sa cabo oti tu ena buturara ni veqaravi kau sega ni vulagi kina. (I am honoured to be appointed by Government and I am no stranger to this field of policing).”
“Kevaka sa noda I to ko Jiova, ocei tale me qai noda meca (If God is for us, who can be against us?).”
Mr Tudravu will take up the job on February 3, 2025.
He had resigned from Fiji Police Force in August 2021 after 39 years with the Fiji Police Force,
He was the Deputy Commissioner at the time and had acted as the Commissioner of Police over a 12-month period when then COMPOL Brig-Gen Qiliho was away on overseas studies in the United Kingdom.
