FIJIAN football captain Roy Krishna will miss the remainder of the Indian Super League (ISL) season after sustaining a Grade 3 ACL injury during Odisha FC’s game against Hyderabad FC.

The injury is a massive setback for the Fiji-born striker, who has been a star player in the league, impressing with his skill and consistency.

Krishna is scheduled to undergo surgery today to begin his recovery journey.

Initial assessments predict he could be sidelined for up to eight months.

However, Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf is optimistic about an earlier return.

“If all goes well, we are hopeful that Roy might be back on the field by April next year,” Yusuf said.

Known for his incredible work ethic, Krishna has been one of the most successful players in the ISL, amassing 116 appearances, 58 goals, and 28 assists during his career.

His contributions to both club and country have made him an inspiration for many aspiring footballers.
