The Lami Legends Grants Betting Futsal tournament is quickly approaching, with 48 teams set to compete at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva from January 6-8.

This open grade tournament will feature Premier teams, Masters, Veterans, and a Legends team, offering a prize pool of $5000.

Organised by Sheik Dean, the tournament serves as a fundraiser for the Lami football club.

“The funds raised will support the club’s participation in an upcoming tournament in New Zealand next year for over 50s teams,” said Dean.

“This tournament is a revival of a previous event held in 2011, which featured 48 teams competing over five days.

“The $5000 prize money will be divided among the winners of the Plate, Cup, and Bowl competitions.

“The main goal of the tournament is to raise funds for the Lami Legends Football club, while also promoting interest in futsal among the local community.

“Futsal has gained popularity as an indoor sport, attracting teams from various backgrounds.”
