A Fiji Airways Boeing 737 flying from Adelaide to Nadi made an emergency landing in Noumea yesterday.
Fiji Airways has confirmed the incident.
“We wish to inform our passengers and the public that Fiji Airways Flight FJ960 from Adelaide to Nadi was diverted to Noumea due to a medical emergency on board,” said Fiji Airways.
“It is with great sadness that we confirm the passenger involved has passed away.”
The aircraft has since arrived in Nadi.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and extend our deepest condolences to the passenger’s family. Our team is working closely with the relevant authorities to support those involved.”
