WELL! Well! Well! Finally the Jet has landed and it was brought to Earth by the Babasiga Lions who roared the loudest in front of about 4000 spectators.
As a die hard Nadi fan and a strong follower of football in Fiji let me just remind people of something.
On the match day, 21/03/15 the crowd at Prince Charles Park was electrifying and from 6pm the fans started to make their way inside the ground but by about 7pm the crowd had grown to such a number that the line ran from the booth to the main road.
What was the cause for this long line?
Nadi Football Association had only two ticket machines running out of the five they previously used. To cater for a large crowd only two ticket machines?
Were they joking? Frustration and arguments were heating up among the fans.
The match kicked off at 7.29pm and Labasa scored within 26seconds.
Some had returned home with disappointment after that early goal while some bravely waited for their turn in line.
Many fans began to say that it is their curse over the way the Nadi FA had organised the ticket booths and then there were taunts, and frustration which led to the loss.
I hope to see in future blockbuster matches, that officials are considerate and check their facilities. I believe they should learn from EPL organisers who calmly cater for more than 50000 fans in a relaxed atmosphere.
I would like to hear from the Nadi Football Association on this issue.
