The strength of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces does not lie in its might but in its commitment to the people and the civil power it serves.

This was Home Affairs Minister, Pio Tikoduadua’s message to the new RFMF recruits who officially graduated from military training during a passing out parade earlier this week.

“The National Security and Defence Review envisions an RFMF that is forward-looking, disciplined, and unwavering in its dedication to the ideals of democracy,” said Mr Tikoduadua.

“As young officers, you are the stewards of this vision.

“You will carry forward the traditions of the RFMF while shaping its future in a way that reflects the values of our nation.”

He said their progress within the military was their responsibility.

“Whether you aspire to be a commanding officer, a regional leader, or a public servant in later life, the choices you make now will determine your future.

“Embrace every opportunity to learn, to grow, and to serve with excellence.”

He added that his military training provided a foundation for all that he has achieved in life.

“It gave me the courage to stand for what I believed to be right, even in the face of daunting challenges.

“It taught me to lead with conviction and to serve with humility. And it is my hope that your training will do the same for you.”
