HOME Affairs and Immigration Minister Pio Tikoduadua is appealing to a group of Bangladeshi nationals to turn themselves in so that authorities can investigate their claims of mistreatment.
The immigrant workers went awol after alleging they were being abused by their employers.
“They should report the matter to the police,” Mr Tkoduadua advised.
“I dont know where they are but I am appealing to the migrant workers to declare themselves to the police.
“They should be confident that the police will hear their case out with fairness.”
Concerns over the Bangladeshi nationals whereabouts was brought up by Minister for Employment Agni Deo Singh who wanted to hear from the immigrant workers.
He said they would not be able to investigate any claims of mistreatment by employers if the immigrants were nowhere to be found.
