The Kaiviti Silktails have announced several key appointments across their coaching, medical, and executive teams ahead of the 2025 rugby league season.
With a renewed focus on strengthening player development and support, the club has welcomed both new and returning staff members into essential roles.
Returning to the club is Rusiate Ratukana, former Fiji Residents SPG captain and strength and conditioning coach, who will step into the assistant coach role.
Ratukana, who rejoined the Silktails mid-last season, will also assist the performance team, bringing his strength and conditioning background to support players’ physical readiness.
Driscoll praised Ratukana’s impact on the team, noting that “Rusi’s presence has been invaluable.”
The club’s medical and performance team has also been strengthened with the return of Sai Ledua, who previously won the Jacquie Shannon Medallist for staff member of the year in 2022.
Ledua, who took a break from the club due to achilles surgery, will now support the Silktails’ performance and medical operations, leveraging her experience working with Fiji Women’s Soccer and Netball.
Further appointments include Vilimaina Tuivaga as head physiotherapist, with Sio Dickinson moving into a consultancy role, and Dr. Atul Anwas Lal continuing as club doctor.
In the Silktails’ management team, Mereoni Tuinanuya will continue as general manager, while Team Pastor Kemueli Salu has been appointed as welfare and community engagement manager.
Facilities and maintenance duties will be managed by Erami Vuleka, with Driscoll overseeing day-to-day operations and liaising with sponsors and stakeholders.
Silktails chairman Petero Civoniceva emphasized that these appointments underscore the club’s commitment to nurturing Fiji-based talent and providing robust support for players and staff.
“We are thrilled to have people who truly understand the Silktails’ values and goals. With the new staff and the support of our Bulldogs partnership, we are confident in our preparations for the upcoming season,” Civoniceva said.
