A trade mission from New Caledonia is currently in the country for business-to-business meetings, institutional meetings and to attend the 2024 Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association’s HOTEC Trade Show in Denarau starting today.

Organised by New Caledonia Trade & Invest (NCT&I) in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce of New Caledonia, the trade mission from the French territory comprises of representatives of seven companies who will be learning how to do business in Fiji through their various meetings.

“Some of the participants have experience in Fiji and are in the process to open a subsidiary while some are still exploring and visiting for the first time,” French Ambassador to Fiji Julie Le Saos said, while welcoming the delegation.

“We know Fiji is a tourism hotspot in the region and has so much potential to grow.

“It is a large delegation in terms of the number of companies from New Caledonia that are going to part of the largest hospitality tradeshow event in Fiji,” Ms Le Saos said.

“This event will provide the New Caledonia companies to showcase their brands, expand their network and offer best sustainable tourism practices and solutions to the needs of the tourism sector in Fiji.

“With tourism being the biggest contributor to Fiji’s economy, this platform will provide potential opportunity for these businesses to be part of something special and increase the French business footprint in the country.”

Companies represented at the New Caledonia trade booth are Pacific Plastic Profile (3P), Epureau, CEA, Syrius Solar Industry, Solar NC, Metalco and Vergnet Pacific.

NCT&I will also represent three companies: Azur Piscines, Sema and Institute of Quality, who could not make it to HOTEC 2024.

This is the second time for NCT&I to have a New Caledonian delegation and booth on HOTEC, after a successful first edition.
