The heavy rain alert has now been upgraded to a heavy rain warning by the Fiji Meteorological Services.
Areas under the heavy rain warning are Yasawa and Mamanuca Groups, Viti Levu, Kadavu, Moala and Southern Lau Group.
The forecast for these areas from today is for occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms with localized heavy falls leading to flash flooding of low-lying areas.
