Fiji will host the one-day finals of the World Surf League (WSL) world tour in 2025, a move widely praised by surfers and fans.

The finals will take place at Cloudbreak reef, known for its powerful barrels, marking a departure from the softer waves of California’s Lower Trestles, which had hosted the championships for the past four years.

The tour kicks off at Hawaii’s Banzai Pipeline in late January and includes the debut of Surf Abu Dhabi, a massive wave pool utilising technology developed with 11-time world champion Kelly Slater.

The schedule aims to feature diverse locations, promising quality surf leading up to the finals in Fiji, where the top-ranked surfers will compete for the championship title.
