All Blacks’ legend and renowned boxing champion Sonny Bill Williams will be the chief guest at the South Pacific Boxing Promotion later this month.
Boxing promoter Freddy Chand expressed his excitement about Williams’ visit to the country, emphasising the importance of sponsors and businesses backing the event for its success.
Highlighting Williams as a significant drawcard, Chand urged the community to show their support for the South Pacific Boxing Promotion.
“A special dinner with Sonny Bill Williams is scheduled upon his arrival, with tickets priced at $100, and the venue to be confirmed soon,” said Chand.
“Arrangements can be made for sponsors interested in bringing Williams to Suva or having him promote their brands.”
In conjunction with the event, there are plans for an awareness program involving sponsors and potential rugby clinics in collaboration with Fiji Rugby.
The fight card includes three international bouts, featuring prominent boxers Sebastian Singh will be facing Tonga’s Tonga Tongotongo for the IBO Asia Pacific Cruiserweight title, while his brother, Ubayd Haider, will compete against China’s Runqi Zhou for the IDO Asia Pacific Featherweight title.
Meanwhile, Winston Hill faces Australia’s Lachlan O’Shea for the IBO Asia Pacific Super Welterweight title and elder brother Jonathan Hill will fight Sitiveni Nawai for the Fijian Super Welterweight title.
The event will showcase a total of 11 bouts at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi on October 26.
