THE earlier postponed Swire Shipping 42nd Fiji Senior Golfer’s Association Open will begin today, at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva.
For day one, the competition is a stroke event of nearest to the pin on the 2nd hole and second shot on hole number four.
Day two’s competition will see the nearest to the pin on number 12 and second shot on the 17th hole.
On the third day, competition events will see nearest to the pins on the fifth and 16th holes.
Golfers will compete for the Shield and Tanoa trophies, with prizes also up for grabs.
Players over the age of 70 will also compete for the Jack Akbar Trophy over the three-day competition.
Registration is from 11-11.30am with a shotgun start at 12pm.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is expected to take part as well.
