The challenges of making a mark in the Bollywood music industry are not a secret to anyone.
But Fiji’s Indian diaspora communities have also shown their exceptional talent with the melodious voice to make a mark in the Indian music industry.
Fiji’s prominent figure in Bollywood industry Sumeet Tappoo has sparked new vibes, yet again, with his versatility and talent to sing in his latest album, “Dil Pareshan Karta Hai”.
Tappoo has been known for his range of various genres, especially in Bollywood film and devotional singing.
His latest singing contribution came from the Indian legendary Gulzar, who composed the album Dil Pareshan Karta Hai.
It has seven original songs, is a masterpiece of musical artistry, presenting seven distinct melodies crafted by Gulzar, set to the compositions of the eminent music director Pt. Bhavdeep Jaipurwale, and brought to life by Tappoo’s evocative and soulful voice.
Tappoo’s deep, resonant tones provide exceptional beauty to each of the seven songs, which are a complex tapestry of taste and meaningful language.
Pt. Bhavdeep Jaipurwale’s musical arrangements, enhanced by the inclusion of live instruments and a sophisticated violin symphony, provide a unique auditory experience within the genre of non-film music.
Gulzar’s enduring poetry, infused with profound understanding, evokes strong emotions and encourages contemplation on the fundamental nature of love, life, and philosophy.
Gulzar is renowned for his ability to evoke strong emotions and convey profound meaning via his songs.
His compositions delve into several subjects, including love, yearning, self-reflection, and optimism.
Tappoo, a renowned figure in the Indian music industry, is quite excited about this co-operation.
He conveyed his appreciation, stating: “Working with Gulzar Sahab is nothing short of a dream come true.
He stands as a towering figure in the realm of literature, widely regarded as one of the greatest poets of all time.
His evocative words have resonated deeply with me, shaping my understanding and appreciation of poetry.”
He said: “The opportunity to lend my voice to his profound and intricate verses is not merely a professional privilege, but an honour that transcends words.
Engaging with his work allows me to connect with a legacy that has touched countless lives, making this experience both humbling and profoundly enriching.
“Bhavdeep Ji’s compositions and music direction in the album are outstanding. Each of the seven tracks is crafted in a distinct Raaga, showcasing a unique approach, style, and musical presentation. I’m confident that music enthusiasts will deeply appreciate this work”.
Tappoo’s analysis of Gulzar’s words is anticipated to provide a novel viewpoint, appealing to audiences with both traditional and modern sensibilities.
The release of this album has already sparked enthusiasm among fans and industry insiders alike, with many excitedly looking forward to listening to the record.
Their album strives to create a memorable musical experience.
There are numerous singers in the Indian Bollywood industry, and it is a competitive place for every artist.
It becomes even more challenging when you come from the Indian diaspora community and may not have any godfather in the Indian music industry.
However, talent and hard work have no alternative, and that has been reflected in the journey of Tappoo.
He may have navigated the cultural and musical nuances of Bollywood to add a flavour to his voice to make a mark for himself.
Individuals located outside India may have restricted access to resources such as professional studios, marketing teams, and industry mentors.
Notwithstanding these difficulties, only a few diaspora artists like Tappoo have effectively established themselves by using their distinctive viewpoints, establishing robust connections, and maintaining unwavering determination.
The many origins of individuals often provide novel inspirations to Bollywood music, hence adding to its dynamic and ever-changing terrain.
Tappoo’s mesmerising voice can be heard in the album Dil Pareshan Karta Hai, which was released on 23 .
The songs are available on Spotify. It has added another feather to his talent, which is showcased outside Fiji in the Indian music industry.
One of the songs, Mausam https://www.youtube.com/embed/eieJVqTJ2D8 , is one of my favourite numbers in this album.
I hope the audience will give their support to Fiji’s musical icon, making vibes in the Indian music industry.
