FIJI’S heavyweight boxing champion James Singh has apologised for his behaviour during the recent title bout against Semi Dauloloma at the Bluewater Boxing Promotion event in Sigatoka last Saturday.
Boxing fans at Lawaqa Park witnessed a chaotic second-round fight that quickly descended into chaos when both fighters fell to the canvas.
While on the ground, Singh landed three controversial blows to the back of Dauloloma’s head, prompting an immediate stoppage of the bout for a 10-minute medical evaluation.
While recovering at his corner, Dauloloma suddenly charged across the ring to confront Singh, throwing several punches at him.
The match was called a no contest by Boxing Commission of Fiji chairman Adi Narayan.
In a letter, Singh expressed his deep regret for his unprofessional conduct during the bout extending his apology to the BCF, Dauloloma’s camp, fans and the wider boxing community.
