IT’S all getting too real for the Digicel Fiji Young Kulas as they arrived in Colombia yesterday for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Head coach Angeline Chua and her young side landed in Medellin, Colombia where they were greeted by cultural dancers and a lively band.

The team was escorted by police from the airport to their hotel and got straight to work as only three days remain until their first world cup match.

It will be a baptism of fire for the Young Kulas as this will be their maiden appearance at the world stage.

The Young Kulas had some promising friendly matches prior to this with fellow world cup debutants Morrocco being their latest opponent in Costa Rica.

Fiji went down nil-2 to Morrocco on Tuesday in their last friendly match.

They also spent 10 training days in the United States of America where they played local teams in Sacramento and San Fransisco.

Before that, the team spent a week in Australia at the Australian Institute of Sports in Canberra where they faced local teams including the Future Matildas.

Their opening match is against Brazil on Sunday, 11am at Estadio Atanasio Girardot.
