Students involved in serious crimes should no longer come as a surprise, says the Police Chief of Operations Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu.
ACP Driu said children involved in serious crimes were the sad reality of today.
“We continue to receive reports of students involved in serious crimes,” he said.
While speaking to cadets of Nabala Secondary School, he said, most of the time those children were involved in crimes such as drugs, rape, abduction, and burglary.
“These were some of the serious cases in which the juveniles, those below 18 years, are involved.”
He reminded students that one wrong decision can turn their world upside down.
“Most of the children who committed these crimes are now living with regrets.”
He said no child should ever endure this trauma at a young age.
“You should be enjoying your childhood.
He advised them not to rush into adult life because it comes with responsibilities and burdens that one might not be ready for.
