THE Nadi futsal side won the 2024 Digicel Fiji National Futsal League-Western Zone with a record of 10 games without defeat.

In the competition which had a double round-robin format, the Jetsetters, in a span of 10 weeks, defeated Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, Lautoka and Nadroga to clinch the title.

Team director Manoj Kumar credited the players discipline and the new futsal turf at the Nadi Muslim College multi-purpose court, which made a difference for them this season.

“The win is dedicated to all the players and also our coach Vikash Chand, for playing a pivotal role in our campaign,” he said.

Kumar said from the first match, their aim was to win the Western League and the boys followed the plan which was set out.

“The difference this year was that we started playing on a proper futsal turf, which uplifted the players performance.”

He said their focus turned to Fiji FA Super Six, where top two teams from North, South and West would compete.

“We are preparing for Super Six which didn’t happen last year, but is in the Fiji FA football calendar this year and also the Futsal Inter District Championship later in the year.”

The Vikash Chand coached-side thrashed Lautoka Futsal team 7-0 in the last game of the Western League on Sunday, finishing their campaign on a high note with 28 points.
