Accounting firm KPMG Fiji has announced the retirement of Renu Chand, its partner in charge of Fiji Business & Tax Advisory services.
Ms Chand, who officially retires at the end of next month after nearly 20 years with the firm, joined KPMG Fiji’s Business Services Group as a senior manager in January 2005, and was admitted as a partner in January 2007.
During her near-two-decade career with the firm, Ms Chand held many instrumental roles, among them Head of People, Performance & Culture; Head of Learning & Development; Chief Information Officer, National IT Security Officer and Privacy Liaison Officer.
“Renu is a deeply trusted professional, and the high calibre of her diverse client base is testament to the value clients place in her,” KPMG Fiji managing partner Lisa Apted said.
“She has delivered exceptional client service experiences at every opportunity, and we thank her for the valuable contribution she has made to the firm.”
Ms Chand was instrumental in the establishment of the initial pilot and ongoing Fiji Dynamix set up and KPMG’s new Nadi office in 2023, following the integration with KPMG Australia.
A ground-breaking female business leader and a past president and treasurer of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants, she was the first female Fiji member to become a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In her retirement, Ms Chand plans to travel and spend time with family residing overseas.
Ms Apted said the transition of Ms Chand’s clients is already underway, including personal introductions to new partners.
“Continuity of engagements and maintaining a high quality of service is paramount to us as a firm, and we will work with clients to ensure a smooth transition,” she said.
