The Digicel Fiji Baby Bula Boys will face hosts Tahiti in the semi-final of the 2024 Oceania Football Confederation Under-16 Championship on Thursday.

The Sunil Kumar coached side finished as runner-up in Group A after a hard fought 3-2 win over Vanuatu on Sunday.

Tahiti topped its pool winning all three matches, summing up with a 2-1 win over Samoa yesterday.

Kumar knows the match against Tahiti will not be easy.

“We have come through three tough pool games, and we know the semi-final against Tahiti will be tougher,” Kumar said.

“It’s the semi-final and a win will ensure us a place at the World Cup next year, so the boys have been told to give in their all for this match.”

The coach acknowledged the support received for the team for far.

“I know there is a lot of expectation from this team, and we will give our best shot in the semis.”

Fiji takes on Tahiti at 4pm on Thursday.

The first semi-final will see New Zealand taking on New Caledonia.

The two wines of the semi-final will qualify for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar next year.

They will be joined by the winner of third-place playoff from the OFC event.
