MONISH Kumar was gutted on Friday as he watched the three-bedroom congregated iron house he rented at Vitogo in Lautoka go up in flames.

Mr Kumar was at work when he received a call from his sister at 9am informing him of the tragedy.

“I left home around 8am to go to work at Green Tech in Lautoka,” he said.

“One of our neighbours called my mother, who is overseas, to tell her our house was on fire.

“I lost more than $10,000 worth of household items. Everything is gone.”

Mr Kumar said he would stay with his brother’s family.

The National Fire Authority is in the process of determining the cause of the blaze.
