Eneriko Matau was the toast for the Smart Security/Calgary Nadi side as his two goals secured an upset 2-1 win over Flick Hygiene Lautoka at the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants tournament at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Matau scored on either side of half-time as the Jetsetters took a surprising 2-nil lead heading into the final quarter. Lautoka, missing a number of key players in this tournament managed to pull one back through Antonio Tuivuna.
In the opening match of the tournament, Dayals Sawmillers Ba beat RPA Group/Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Works 3-1. Iliasa Nayasi and Penisoni Tirau scored for Ba while the Stallions conceded an own goal. Rusiate Matarerega scored the lone goal for Nadroga.
In matches today, Flowserve Engineering Navua battles Nadi at 1pm, Extra Supermarket Rewa battles Nadroga at 3pm, Lautoka battles Extra Supermarket Labasa at 5pm while Ba takes on Flick Hygiene Suva at 7pm.
