FLiCK Hygiene Lautoka FC will be missing five of its regular players for this year’s Rooster Chicken Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants tournament which begins this weekend at the HFC Bank Stadium with pool matches.
This was confirmed by president Shalendra Prasad.
The players include Aaron Edward, who has secured a contract in Melbourne, Australia, and will be unavailable.
In a surprising turn, top-season goalkeeper Senirusi Bokini will also not be part of the final 22-member squad because of his failure to attend training sessions and internal issues with Lautoka FC.
Edwin Shahem is sidelined with an injury, and Kishan Sami, who has applied for a transfer to Rewa, is not included in the squad as his transfer remains in dispute.
Despite these key absences, Prasad remains confident that the team will perform well.
“We still have a formidable side and we have a very good coaching staff,” Prasad said.
Lautoka FC will be coached by Shivam Raj, with Lambert Norman serving as technical co-ordinator and former representative Dennis Singh as team director.
